12/12/2008 : IRFU want rugby summer camp help wanted |
THE IRFU Ulster Branch wants to hear from people interested in being part of the team that delivers the 2009 Ulster Rugby Summer Camps. While the details of the 2009 camps, sponsored again by independent retail group Centra, have yet to be finalised, it is envisaged that they will need coaches, with opportunities for employment ranging from 3 to 8 weeks, managers for individual camps, who should be available for the duration of the camps and a project Manager, available for approximately 18 weeks. The 2008 Summer Camps were held at twenty locations provincewide over an 8 week period, and were attended by 1,300 young people and supported by 23 Centra retailers in every corner of Northern Ireland. Provisional dates for the 2009 Ulster Rugby Summer Camps are Monday, June 29 to Friday, August 21, 2009. Chris Webster, IRFU Provincial Development Manager said: “There are great opportunities for staff at the Summer Camps to develop their skills in working with young people and also for helping the children who take part to develop new skills of their own. It is extremely rewarding work.” All staff must be appropriately qualified and have experience of coaching rugby to children aged between 6 and 13 years of age by the time the camps commence. Successful applicants will be subject to an Access NI check. To register your interest please email Chris Webster at chris@ulsterrugby.com and include details of the post you would be interested in along with your coaching qualifications and experience.
