10/07/2008 : Pre-Season Training Starts July 15th |
COLERAINE Rugby Club is getting geared up for the new season.
Pre-season training starts next week and new coach Richard Kernohan is looking forward to getting into action. Work at the club is continuing and this week the floodlights have been repaired.

Richard said: “We are starting back to pre-season training on Tuesday, July 15, at 7.00pm. As well as training, on the first night we plan to have a meeting with all the players so that players and coaches can get a clear picture of what they want for the season to come.
“Training itself will concentrate on condition and fitness to start with, but combined with ball based activities as much as possible. The focus will fall more sharply on skills development as training gets under way.
“We have a number of specialist coaches coming into the frame again this year and I am looking forward to working with them and the players to get the best start we can for the season.
“Pre-season training is open to all players in the club. We also encourage new players, experienced or not, to come along and join in.”
As a bonus, the floodlights around No 1 pitch have been repaired and will now provide high standard lighting for training and matches. Thanks go to CP Hire who provided a new 60-foot hoist to carry out the work.
Work is also continuing on the refurbishment of the clubhouse facilities. This should be completed for the start of the season and the new look clubhouse will tie in with the outer design of the new changing rooms.
