Derek Love

Sender: Terry McIlwaine

I am saddened to hear the news regarding Derek. My thoughts and condolences are with his family. I remember Derek in high regard as he managed the Colts of 1981 and 1982 and coached by Brian Fillis. Derek was one who was always there for the guys, always giving his own time through training and travelling to games. I know that back then the colts of those two years held Derek with great esteme. Quite simply Derek was one of the kindest all giving men I have ever met. His beaming smile will always be remembered.

What has happened to Coleraine club this season? Obvious changes need to be made for next year if they want to go anywhere.

What is happening to Coleraine this season? Who is to blame? I think we are letting the home grown talent walk away to the bigger clubs too easy.

Brian, Congratulations on becoming President. I am sure the club will be in safe hands in your tenure. Funny last night I met Dean MacCartney in a pub on Chester with a few other of his Ulster and Ballymena compatriots. Told me the team are not doing the best gloating a little they were bottom of Junior 1. I scincerely hope this is a blip....the only way is up.......Maybe you have to take them for a session in the mud like the old days. Good Luck.

Christmas Matches

Could somebody let me know what matches are scheduled in the Christmas/New Years time period? I will be home from USA for a couple of days and it would be nice to catch a match at the club. Cheers

Unfortunately the talent from down under arrived with the incorrect paperwork. The Ulster Branch have since prevented him from playing until the correct documents are in place. As far as I am aware Coleraine have done everything possible to enable him to play (apart from checking his passports before he set off from down under) Similar with the NZ guy - paperwork needs checked before they set out from home.

i heard the way a great prospect from down under was treated this season by your club. I would like to say, what a disgrace!!! This is and an embarrasment this is to our province. Whoever delt with this teenager would need to take a big look at themselves in disgust!!!! That is all i have to say on this matter. Know onto the NZ teenager, what a shambles, disgrace, joke, embarrasment, i feel outraged and will not say anymore, good day and good luck in your season
