It is my honour and privilege to serve as president of Coleraine Rugby Football and Cricket Club for the 2011-2012 season.

Last year’s success will be difficult to follow but we must look forward and face the challenges that lie ahead, and this year will be particularly difficult with the ongoing economic crisis.

We have a strong management team in place but we need support from the entire club to keep going. I am calling on all past and present members to come along and lend support to the club and the teams that represent the club and town so well. To our players and coaches, in all our sports, I hope you have a successful season.

I know that you have the club at the heart of all your efforts and I call on all the members to support all of our sporting activities.

To our sponsors, without whom we would struggle to survive, thank you for your generous support in the past and for your continued support in the future.

The iconic building we have created with our new changing rooms and club house renovations stands at the main access point to Coleraine and it is a source of great pride for the Club and the town. It symbolises our club’s commitment to the future of all our sports and to the young people who in the future will ensure our club remains a force to be reckoned with, throughout the country. Our club is community based, membership is open to everyone, and I ask that anyone interested in getting involved in any of our sports – rugby, cricket, hockey and bowls – or who just wants to join the club for a place to visit for a quit drink and a chat, come along to the clubhouse at Rugby Avenue. Give it a try – you might just like it.
