As President of Coleraine Rugby Football and Cricket Club it is my pleasure to welcome your to our club website.


This year, on the 22nd October, sees the club celebrate it's eighty eighth birthday. The club played its first fixture on Thursday 27th October 1921 against City of Derry and were led onto the pitch that day by the club's first captain Mr. C.L. Gabbett.

Finding a pitch was not easy in the early days and it was not until 1945 that the present site at Sandel Lodge Park became the permanent home of the club. This site has been extensively developed over the years and today the club can be rightly proud of the playing, changing and social facilities available to club members.

The final renovations to the club buildings will be completed by the start of the 2009-10 season. This will include the addition of a fitness suite and weights room, upgraded kitchen and function room.

The success of any amateur sports club depends on the support, energy and time given by the officials, coaches, alikadoos and supporters and we are fortunate in Coleraine to have a dedicated and hard working core of members who are prepared to carry out the numerous tasks to make the playing of sport possible.

Rugby, both senior and junior, cricket, ladies hockey, bowls and summer soccer all have an integral part to play in the success and development of the Club. Coleraine is strong in the development of rugby, cricket and hockey at youth level and we are grateful to all of the coaches and parents who give of their time and money to make these sections the success that they are.

I would also like to take this opportunity to officially thank the many sponsors who have supported the club over the years, whether it be direct sponsorship for a club section or team, advertising boards, shirt sponsorship or pre match lunches.

Finally, I would like to extend a warm invitation to any visitors who are in the area, any locals who would like to join and support the club and to any players, of any age, who would like to play and most importantly enjoy their rugby, cricket, hockey or bowls amongst friends, to come along to Sandel Lodge Park.
